CNEHA 2015 Conference
The 2015 Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology meeting will be held in Fredericksburg, Virginia from November 6th through the 8th. The conference venue is the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Fredericksburg. The theme for this year’s conference is Recover, Restore and Remember. This theme is designed to capture Fredericksburg’s history as a crossroads during numerous significant events in American history, most notably the Civil War.
The conference organizers are Dovetail Cultural Resource Group, in partnership with the University of Mary Washington. Conference Chair is Kerri Barile of Dovetail, Program Chair is Doug Sanford (UMW), and Registration and Finance Chair is Sara Poore, also of Dovetail. A range of tours and workshops are planned including a special Saturday night social featuring barbeque, bluegrass, and tours of a distillery.
Call for Papers
The theme for this year’s conference, Recover, Restore and Remember, is a phrase designed to capture Fredericksburg’s history as a crossroads during numerous significant events in American history, most notably the Civil War.
Individual papers and sessions, as well as posters, on this and other themes related to historical archaeology are welcome. Abstracts should be no more than 150 words and include a title, author(s), and affiliation. Abstracts should clearly describe the research’s purpose and significance, while summarizing the project’s results. Papers are limited to 20 minutes. Each session will include a closing, five-minute question and answer period.
