{"id":910,"date":"2022-01-16T17:21:15","date_gmt":"2022-01-16T17:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cneha.org\/community\/?p=910"},"modified":"2022-01-16T17:21:15","modified_gmt":"2022-01-16T17:21:15","slug":"funding-cut-at-the-potteries-museum-and-gladstone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cneha.org\/community\/funding-cut-at-the-potteries-museum-and-gladstone\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding Cut at the Potteries Museum and Gladstone"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The letter below was recently shared with members of the Northern Ceramic Society concerning recent news regarding Stoke-on-Trent&#8217;s decision to cut funding at the Potteries Museum and Gladstone.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;Dear NCS Members,<\/p>\n<p>Many of you will have heard the news that the City of\u00a0Stoke-on-Trent is planning major budget cuts to The Potteries Museum &amp; Art Gallery and to Gladstone Pottery Museum. These plans involve the deletion of both ceramic curator posts at the Potteries Museum and the elimination of all staff positions at Gladstone.<\/p>\n<p>The proposals include closing Gladstone from November \u2013 March (in the hopes of picking up filming and other commercial work) and opening to the public from April to October, Wednesday-Sunday.\u00a0 The Potteries Museum staff will be expected to manage and run Gladstone in addition to the main building at Hanley. They too will also only open to the public Wednesday-Sunday.
